Responsibilities
Van is the President and CEO of MOC Insurance Services. MOC was founded by Maroevich’s father in 1969, and Van joined the firm in 1975. He assumed management of the brokerage in 1988 and has grown it from a three-person firm to its present size of over 50 team members. Under Van’s profound leadership, MOC is recognized as a prominent independent insurance brokerage conducting business with major insurance carriers, and representing clients throughout the United States.
Experience
Van has served on numerous insurance company councils and has been extremely active in legislative issues that have direct impact on policyholders. In this capacity, he served as chairman of the Agents and Brokers Legislative Council, and has served on the boards of the Western Association of Insurance Brokers and The Insurance Brokers and Agents of the West.
Van is a native San Franciscan and received his bachelor of sciences degree in finance from the University of California Berkeley. He also participated in executive programs at Harvard University, focusing on leadership in professional service firms. He began his insurance career attending The Hartford School of Insurance immediately upon joining MOC.
In addition to his committed service to the insurance industry, Van has served on the Insurance Committee for the Olympic Club of San Francisco, the National Association of Theatre Owners Scholarship Committee, and is an alumnus of the Board of Regents of St. Ignatius College Preparatory.
Interests
When not working, Van enjoys spending his time with his family, including his Labrador, Hunter, at their family ranch.
